Texas A&M University College of Engineering

Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)

MEEN 489/689

For seniors and beginning graduate students interested in numerical analysis of engineering problems in fluid mechanics and heat transfer. Emphasizes numerical techniques for solving fluid/thermal problems. Surveys the general governing equations and methods to solve them, including finite-difference, and finite-volume methods. Introduces state-of-the-art computer tools for analysis and graphical representation of results. Gives students a broad view of computational fluid mechanics for engineering applications in the fluid/thermal sciences.

Instructor(s): Borazjani

Credits: 3

Prerequisites: Fluid Mechanics, Heat transfer, Eng. Analy for Mech, and proficiency in a programming language.
